We all know it from our chemistry lessons: the Bohr model of the atom, in which electrons orbit around a nucleus of neutrons and protons. Although this model has been extended several times by Niels Bohr, its basic features are still valid. In contrast, another Danish achievement is completely outdated today: a device for the magnetic recording of sound, the cassette recorder. It was invented at the end of the 19th century by Valdemar Poulsen.
