Cité de l’Espace

Toulouse

The ‘Cité de l’Espace’, in English: the City of Space, is located in Toulouse in the south of France. Toulouse is considered the European capital of the aerospace industry. The Cité de l’Espace was opened in 1997 and is a mixture of adventure and theme park. Visitors to the park can see a replica of the Ariane 5, an ESA launch vehicle, or enter the real training modules of the Russian space station MIR. Within this park is the so-called Terradome, which takes visitors on a simulated ‘space trip’ through time. In addition, the exhibition in the park’s main building features more than 170 exhibits, many of which can be used interactively, including, for example, the Moon-Runner.
